Butterfly season is returning in southern AZ and wanted to capture some in action. Found this Fiery Skipper jumping around flower to flower. I usually just wait on a flower for someone to visit since I am so close to it. The pollen on the lounge was a surprise to see

I am wondering if I need a wider DOF. This lens was f/2.8 set at f/11. Should the flower in the LLC go.
Hi Dean. This is sharp where it’s critical, but I agree that with the angle it’s at to the camera, there are some in and out of focus areas kind of overlapping in the wings that are a bit disconcerting. The flower in the lower left doesn’t bother me, so either way would work from my perspective.
Dean: Knowing how small skippers are and the size of the lantana this is a really good capture. I’m OK with the LLC flower but if it were mine I probably would make it go away with cloning/fill. Good work overall.>=))>
